We have converted our 1992 Bluebird Bus to run off of waste vegetable oil. This allows us to burn recycled vegetable oil instead of diesel fuel while traveling. We are in the process of converting the bus into a tiny home/tour bus to take us around the USA and Canada sharing our passions of yoga, music, and living a sustainable life. The veggie oil conversion is just one of several systems being implemented into the bus to help lower our impact on the earth as we travel and connect with others.

This video was created by Atomic Independent Pictures to showcase the components of the veggie oil system in the bus and the filtration system, which will be in the bus in it's final stages. We will be able to collect, filter, dewater, store, and use the veggie oil on the bus. Almost all of the major components of the veggie oil system were manufactured by WVO Designs, who have helped to sponsor our conversion and subsequent tour.

We reached out to WVO Designs with details of our project, after researching for months and settling on their components and centrifuge. We were very blessed that they really liked our project and decided to partner up with us to make this dream a reality!

Additional components of the system were purchased from numerous retailers, such as hardware stores, auto parts stores, boating supply stores, etc. The system was designed using a schematic developed by SunWizard, from www.burnveg.com. He designed the system for his Dodge truck with a Cummins 5.9 Diesel Engine and a Bosch P7100 Injection Pump. Our bus uses this same engine and Injection Pump combo, with some slight modifications for usage in the bus application. Jeremy adapted this schematic to fit our bus and installed it with the help of a friend.

NOTE: IN THIS VIDEO, JEREMY MENTIONS THAT SOMEONE WITH A BASIC MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE CAN DO THE CONVERSION. WE WOULD LIKE TO STATE THAT THE CONVERSION IS A STRAIGHTFORWARD PROCESS. HOWEVER, USING WVO AS A FUEL IS EXPERIMENTAL. WE DID OVER A YEAR OF RESEARCH BEFORE HEADING DOWN THIS RESULT AND ONLY HAVE LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON WVO AT THE TIME OF POSTING. TIME WILL TELL WHAT HAPPENS. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.... AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST!!!
