Habhi'ru - Good bye John Compton

Those electric blue eyes, famous smile, incredible grace and joie de vivre; that was John Compton.
He passed from this life on October 14, 2012.
Please join us in honoring his incredible contribution to the dance world at 4pm on the main stage at Rakkasah where members of Hahbi 'Ru will perform a final show dedicated to a man who will never be forgotten.

Since 1991 Hahbi 'Ru's focus was always on the old world Tribal-Folkloric style-- different from Cabaret or American Tribal dancing most people think of when they picture belly dance. Swathed in assuit (the silver Egyptian fabric featured in their costumes) Hahbi'Ru performed regularly from 1991-2010 at many Renaissance Faires, large public events, dance festivals, and private parties. Their signature sign off was always John's famous tray dance.

Rakkasah, if you've never been, is an incredible showcase of middle-eastern and bellydance vendors and performers from all over the world. On Sunday the festival is open from 12-8pm.
