There’s rising tension between African immigrants and African Americans—and now, some Black Americans are calling for a boycott of African-owned businesses, including hair braiding salons and African restaurants, starting August 1st, 2025. But why?
In this video, I dive into the reasons behind this call for boycott: claims of disrespect, poor customer service, cultural tensions, and stereotypes on both sides. Some African Americans say they feel looked down upon by Africans, while others say Africans show off their success and question Black American culture. On the flip side, African immigrants feel misunderstood and stereotyped too.
