Join us for a deep dive into the practical and economic realities of safeguarding one of the world's most vital habitats. In our final episode of Season 1, The Economics of Wetland Conservation, we are delighted to host professional ecologist Paul Goriup.
Paul brings a wealth of experience, starting his career in nature conservation in 1977. With a joint honours degree in Botany and Zoology and an MSc in Conservation Science, Paul has held significant roles, including working for the Worldwide Fund for Nature in Africa and Asia, and serving as Director of Conservation at BirdLife International. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (FCIEEM) and a member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas.
Paul will share his extensive expertise, including his work through NatureBureau ltd, which provides technical support for ecological management projects globally, and FIELDFARE International Ecological Development ltd. Founded in 1996, FIELDFARE pioneered raising private-sector capital for small-scale, pro-nature investments in the Black Sea basin, such as biomass energy production and ecotourism in Ukraine.
