Welcome to part 3 of the video series 'Goodbye Camper, Hello Caravan. In this video, I'll be tackling the suspension by replacing the original suspension with a 2 tonne rated axle, 2 tonne rated leaf springs and 12" electric brakes.
Along the way, I'll have to cut the wheel arch to accommodate a bigger wheel and tyre: 245/70 R16 light truck tyres fitted to 16 x 8 rims.
The rims are 6 stud, 139.7mm PCD (pitch circle diameter) commonly found on early Landcruiser and Nissan Patrols.
A body flare finished off the wheel arch modification.
This video is part 3 in the series documenting the upgrading of the 15' Coromal Supa Light caravan I bought, which will replace my camper trailer when I go prospecting.
The major components used for the suspension upgrade include:
89" 2 tonne axle
2 tonne rated springs
12" electric brakes
A big thankyou to Steve and Rob at South West Trailer Parts in Mandurah, who assisted my by ensuring I purchased the correct parts for the suspension upgrade.
