New speed cameras will soon begin enforcement near 2 East Baltimore schools, according to this report from WBAL TV 11 News, reported by Barry Simms.
The report outlines 2 new speed camera locations: the 1000 to 1300 blocks of Argonne Drive near Walter P. Carter Elementary Middle School and Lois T. Murray Elementary School, and the 1000 to 1700 blocks of Harford Avenue near Johnston Square Elementary School. Cameras will operate on weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Speed camera fines are issued based on how far over the posted speed limit a driver is traveling; 12 to 15 mph over results in a $40 fine, 16 to 19 mph over is $70, 20 to 29 mph over is $120, 30 to 39 mph over is $230, and 40 mph or more over is $425.
