A couple years ago, I never thought I would be performing at the level that I am now. Growing up, my uncle would tell me stories about how he would compete in matches and take classes from legends such as Massad Ayoob and Clint Smith. I would always hear these names growing up, but I thought for sure I would never have the chance to compete against them while they were still in the competition circuit. Low and behold, I finally got the opportunity to do so in Idaho this year at the 2024 USPSA Idaho State Championship. Yong Lee (the gentleman in the thumbnail) is a retired police officer that worked with my uncle for a number of years and has transitioned to the role of Firearms Instructor in his free time. To be able to shake hands and visit with someone that I hold in such high esteem in this industry is an honor. Partaking in competition shooting unlocks doors to meet some wonderful people that all share a love for the sport and the skills that it fosters.
