We’ve all heard of climate justice, a powerful phrase - but also a complicated one.
Behind it are many perspectives: ethical questions without easy answers, scientific warnings too clear to ignore, security challenges reshaping global peace, activists protecting their communities, young leaders fighting for a liveable future, and governments trying to balance urgency with justice.
On the 15th of December at the Peace Palace in The Hague (and on livestreaming), we’re bringing these perspectives together as lived experiences and engaging conversations.
This is Hague Talks: What Makes Climate Action Just?
Join the talk! You’ll hear from:
Noemi Zenk-Agyei (Campaigner, World Youth for Climate Justice)
Susana Muhamad (Former Colombian Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development)
Prof. Behnam Taebi (Professor of Energy & Climate Ethics at TU Delft)
Hanna Verboom (Actress, filmmaker, social entrepreneur)
Tom Middendorp (Former Chief of Defence of The Netherlands.)
In the wake of the ICJ advisory opinion on state’s obligations with respect to climate change, this dialogue will be a timely opportunity for The Hague to come together and discuss what comes next, in the very place this decision was handed down.
