The Forum: Wednesday October 29, 2025

From the Wednesday morning October 29, 2025 meeting of The Forum inside Cascade Hall on the campus of Colorado Mesa University Montrose.

The Forum welcomes newly-appointed Seventh Judicial District Attorney Anna Cooling.


The Seventh Judicial District:

is comprised of six Counties including Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose, Ouray, and San Miquel:

is made up of approximately 10,000 square miles; and

varies in character from rural to frontier, resort to remote, and agriculture to mining.


As the District Attorney of these six Counties and the multiple communities, District Attorney Cooling is responsible for:

the public safety of over 107,053 community members;

four separate offices located in the towns of Delta, Gunnison, Montrose, and Telluride; and

County Courthouses in each county seat, in addition to the West End Associate County Courthouse in Nucla.

No other District Attorney in the State of Colorado has this level of responsibility paired with a very limited budget.

The Forum meets each Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. in Cascade Hall on the Colorado Mesa University’s Montrose campus.
