Set in the 1970s, this classic Chinese martial-arts film blends philosophy, family honor, and kung fu action. The story begins in China, where a wise father teaches his children that true strength comes from patience, discipline, and moral balance — lessons symbolized through nature, the soul, and the art of kung fu. After the father’s death, his teachings continue to guide his sons.
Twenty years earlier, a powerful and dangerous kung fu scroll was stolen after the murder of their uncle. The scroll contains secret techniques — including the legendary “deadly touch” — capable of controlling life and death. Now, the brothers are tasked with recovering it before it falls into the wrong hands.
Their search leads them from Hong Kong to San Francisco’s Chinatown, where they work alongside local authorities while navigating rival kung fu schools, criminal organizations, and hidden masters operating behind nightclubs and legitimate businesses. As mysterious deaths begin to surface, the deadly techniques from the stolen scroll prove to be very real.
Disguises, undercover performances, and intense martial-arts battles follow, culminating in a dangerous confrontation at a fortified mansion during Chinese New Year. The film explores the contrast between true martial virtue and corrupted power, emphasizing that kung fu without honor is empty — and that mastery of the mind is greater than mastery of force.
A rare vintage kung fu film that mixes Eastern philosophy, action, and a cross-cultural 1970s setting — with performances that reflect the era’s unique style and spirit.
