I try to simplify the differences between the three modes of the Subaru X mode system.
The standard AWD system is designed for 90% of conditions. But Subaru offers two additional modes for our use:
Snow and dirt – this mode is designed on light amounts of snow and dry dirt and is designed to cut power to the wheel that is slipping or losing traction. This helps the vehicle to maintain or regain control.
Deep snow and mud – this mode is designed for much more snow and mud and instead of cutting power to the wheel that is slipping or losing traction, instead it maintains the forward momentum so that you don’t get stuck.
I’ve tried to simplify this explanation as much as possible, but as always, do more research so that you can better understand what it can do for you.
