Our Lady of Africa Mbuya Parish Catholic Mass Today - Second Sunday of Advent Year A -
First Reading: Isaiah 11:1-10 - The Prophecy of Isaiah: The shoot of Jesse represents a new beginning, filled with the spirit of the Lord, bringing justice and peace to the nations. -
Psalm: Psalm 72:1-2, 7-8, 12-13, 17 - A prayer for the king, asking God to grant him justice and peace.
Second Reading: Romans 15:4-9 - Paul writes about the hope and endurance that come from Scripture, and Jesus' mission to the Gentiles. Paul's Message: Scripture provides hope and endurance, reminding us of Jesus' mission to bring salvation to all nations. -
Gospel: Matthew 3:1-12 - John the Baptist's call to repentance, preparing the way for the Lord.
These readings invite us to prepare our hearts for Jesus' coming, reflecting on the themes of justice, peace, and repentance.
