Denver Health patient Rudy Valencia has been battling ulcerative colitis since 1998. His symptoms recently got worse and in October 2019, he went off his Remicade treatment when his Medicaid ran out, ending up in the emergency department and the intensive care unit.

In this video, Valencia, his sister, gastroenterologist and nurse talk about how his systems all shut down and how doctors gave him a less than 20 percent chance of living, but how he made it through and became the "Christmas miracle" nearly one year ago at Denver Health.
