I believe these two reels were recorded by Michael Coleman in the 1930s but I originally learnt them from a recording by Connemara melodeonist Johnny Connolly from his classic CD ''An t'Oileán Aerach''. It is one of my favourite recordings of Irish music, with masterful piano accompaniment by Eugene Kelly. In fact guitarists can learn a lot about backing by listening to such authoritave accompanists. These are two D tunes that I play in C/Capo 2 and they are very often played as a set.
