Alright guys. So yesterday I decided to finally tackle doing a fuel filter swap on my e55. You have not done it yet I highly recommend you do it. My filter was in pretty bad shape. I have attached a video on how to do it. Assuming that you already know how to remove the lower bench to access the fuel tank. You do not need a special tool to remove the lock ring on the fuel pumps and level sensor. You simply need a hammer/mallet and something like a pry bar or a very dull chisel to rotate the lock ring.
The part number for the fuel filter is from a e500.
FEBI BILSTEIN 39831 Fuel Filter
You will need to enlarge the smallest hole on that filter with a 25/64 drill bit
For me this was not horrible, You need to take your time, be gentle and be patient.
