iGaging DRO for the Tailstock | Shop made Tools.

A Tailstock Digital Readout is a must have for any lathe. In this video I will make a tailstock DRO for the BIG LATHE using an iGaging DRO kit.

I want the DRO assembly t be easily removable to allow for times when room around the tool post is required. In order to do this I will be using magnets to attach both the read head and the Readout units to the tailstock.

The tailstock quill has over 150mm of travel and is easily accommodated by the iGaging DRO.

There are many videos on YouTube showing various builds for tailstock DRO's. This build gives attribution to Neil Smith from "Machining and Microwaves", His design is the inspiration behind this build.
