Professor Bart D. Ehrman joined the American Freethought Podcast, hosted by John C. Snider whose studio is converged in Atlanta, as a guest speaker on April 5th, 2020. The hosts interviewed Bart D. Ehrman about his new book Heaven and Hell: A History of the Afterlife. John starts by asking if the Bible is crystal clear that all human beings have eternal souls? When we die we are immediately judged to either enter heaven if we have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior or if we haven't, our souls will be cast into hell to be tortured for eternity?

Bart D. Ehrman is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He came to UNC in 1988, after four years of teaching at Rutgers University. At UNC he has served as both the Director of Graduate Studies and the Chair of the Department of Religious Studies. A graduate of Wheaton College (Illinois), Professor Ehrman received both his Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary, where his 1985 doctoral dissertation was awarded magna cum laude.
