This is a South-African version of the German ''Erika'' song. It it sung in the Afrikaner language, which is similar to the Dutch language. Originating in 1967 and sung by Gé Korsten.
The man in the picture is Eugene Terre'Blanche. A man who strived for independence, asserting the diminishing position for Afrikaner Boers (farmers of Dutch ancestry) in a dominant communist and anarchist society of the South-African ANC.
He was murdered with a machete and a bat by young black Africans. The alledged motive for the murder was that they did not receive pay from Eugene. As ridiculous as the motive is, we all know the political importance for the ANC why he had to go.
The flag is not the standard old South-African flag, which also consisted of a british flag and without green banner. This flag was a concept for an Afrikaner ''Volkstaat''. A nation within South-Africa for Afrikaners only.
