Part 1 of a 4 part series teaching you to use Ableton Live software as part of a live DJ'ing performance. If you watch all four parts to this series, along with three or four other related videos that I point out in these videos, you should have a comprehensive understanding of all the steps and processes that are needed to DJ using the Ableton software line.
This particular video, part 1, covers an introduction to Ableton's purpose, discussions about beat-mixing theory, the need to understand how audio mixers work, and other optional equipment which can enhance your DJ'ing experience, including headphones (for cueing), external sound cards, midi controllers, and audio mixers.
Unfortunately, as of early 2014, YouTube annotations are not visible to mobile viewers, only to users watching on desktop browsers. I use annotations quite frequently to post clarifications and additional information during the video. For the best educational experience, you might prefer to watch this video in a desktop browser rather than on mobile, unless YouTube eventually fixes the mobile annotation deficiency.
This is part of the "Learn To DJ" video series by Jonathan Clark, who is well-known in the industry as DJ Bolivia.
