What do you stand for?
This is the question that the universe whispered in my ear one cold, rainy night in February 2018.
This was my call to the practice of Qi Gong.
So what do I stand for?
I stand for peace.
What I have discovered in the early years of my practice is that the pathway to peace in our external world must begin with peace in our internal world.
This special practice comes at the request of a subscriber. They wanted to know the proper Qi Gong stance.
Ask and you shall receive.
Dive into the practice before you read any more and then you can come back for the details.
Your experience is more meaningful than my words.
Please be aware that this is a more detailed and mechanical practice than my usual ones.
Give it a go and feel how this posture of peaceful power enhances relaxation, balance, breathing, and energetic flow.
May peaceful Qi flow in and around you.
10 steps for the Qi Gong Stance for Peace
1. Set your intention: What do you stand for?
2. Place your feet shoulder-width apart and root them into the earth to feel the nourishing support of mother earth.
3. Open and relax your joints to allow your qi to flow freely.
4. Relax the kua (leg gate) to open the passage of energy between your lower and upper body and to open the lower tan tien.
5. Create a centered and stable spine to allow qi to flow on this potent highway.
6. Sink the chest and lift the back to help earth (yin) qi to sink and heaven (yang) qi to rise.
7. Relax the shoulders and drop the elbows to release anxiety and fear and fill the lower tan tien with nourishing qi.
8. Release the muscles of the neck and let energy reach the crown and lift the spirit.
9. Suspend the head from a golden thread of the heavens.
10. Place the tip of the tongue on the roof of the mouth to build saliva (longevity elixir) and connect the yin (begins at tip of tongue) and yang (begins at roof of mouth) meridians.
