“When Blossoms Flower ‘Mid the Snows” also known as “Gesu Bambino” is a beautifully inspirational hymn sung by Tony and the St.Cecilia’s Singing Nuns’ Chorale featuring a lovely countermelody of parts of the song, O Come Let Us Adore Him interspersed with the lyrics speaking of Jesus, the Christmas Rose, the King of Love and Light. It presents a joyful and uplifting arrangement describing poetically the birth of Jesus appearing in a cold world of darkness and celebrates the intervention of Christ into this world. This hymn was originally written in 1917 by Pietro Yon with English lyrics later added by Frederick H. Martens has become a wonderful staple of sacred Christmas music to this day.
