Part 7 concludes our visit, with the final match of the World Sparring Tournament between the reigning Champion Karl Ayliffe from Australia and Ric Martin, from Florida.
Ric Martin competed in the Okinawan Sparring tournament eight times over 13 years. On the final day of this phenomenal trip, Ric defeated Karl and became the first American to win this World Championship!
With the help a police escort to the airport, through the airport, to the tarmac, we took off in Nigels Gulf Stream 4, 90 minutes after the trophy presentation.
Nigel Mancell, The Lion of England, won the Formula One World Championship in 1992. He moved to America in 1993 and won he Indy Car Championship that year. His back-to-back Championship wins are unprecedented in World Racing.
