I changed the fluid in the transaxle of my 2013 Lexus RX350. For a 2 wheel front wheel drive SUV, the transmission is often combined with the front differential, creating the transaxle. After draining the original fluid, I refilled the system with new OEM transmission fluid. Following the Lexus procedure, I drained off the excess fluid after the transmission fluid reach the required temperature range. See link below for the official Lexus shop manual, as well as product links to complete this job yourself. This drain and fill should be completed every 30K-50K miles to ensure a long life of your transmission. This procedure is identical for all Gen 3 models (2008-2015) and is likely very similar for other models and vehicles.
