Tenor & lutenist Ivo Haun and lutenist Peter Croton have joined forces to craft a unique and innovative program titled “Trio for Two: Musings & Improvisations on the Music of John Dowland.” This project, conceived in honor of the 400th anniversary of Dowland’s passing, transcends conventional performance of lute songs & solos by including florid embellishment & self-accompanied song. Through improvised vocal ornamentation and intricate lute divisions, the duo deepens the listener’s engagement with Dowland's compositions, embracing a historically informed practice of ornate musical interpretation celebrating the music's enduring brilliance.
