Teaching Strategies: What Is Differentiation In The Classroom ?

In this video, I am going to outline the four principles of differentiation (teaching strategy) in the classroom and talk about how you can use these to provide engaging and inspiring lessons for your students without too much extra work.

Differentiation can be a challenge for many teachers and part of the issue is that differentiation is misunderstood. Teachers may believe that differentiation means that you need to provide individual programs for each student.

While there are situations where individualised work programs are necessary, this misconception mean that you may feel overwhelmed and confused when it comes to differentiating learning for your students and it makes sense that you would feel that way.

Understanding how to differentiate student learning effectively can help to reduce workload rather than increase it because once you have some simple practices in place it will become second nature to you.
