The national anthem of Israel הַתִּקְוָה (Hatikva)
Was composed in the 19th century by Naftali Hertz Imber, and adopted by Israel during its establishment in 1948. However, the song did not gain “official” anthem status until 2004. Hatikva exclaims the Jewish desire to return home to the ancestral Jewish land after 2000 years of exile. It also exclaims how no matter how long it’s been, the land of Israel still remainded in the Jewish heart.

הולחן במאה ה-19 על ידי נפתלי הרץ אימבר, ואומץ על ידי ישראל במהלך הקמתו בשנת 1948. עם זאת, השיר זכה למעמד המנון "רשמי" רק בשנת 2004. התקווה קוראת את הרצון היהודי לחזור הביתה לארץ האבות היהודית לאחר 2000 שנות גלות. היא גם קוראת איך לא משנה כמה זמן עבר, ארץ ישראל עדיין נשארה בלב היהודי.
