At this age, while the puppies eyes and ears are still sealed shut, they spend essentially all day sleeping and nursing. We disturb them just twice a day to weigh them, change their blanket, and to do some simple handling exercises to boost neurological development. While some handling is really beneficial, we don’t want to over stress them so on days when we have extra activities like pictures, or nail trimming, we skip our regular exercises. Today, the puppies got their first nail trim, which mom will be very grateful for because those tiny baby claws are really sharp! We also did their baby paw prints which will go as a keep sake for their forever families that already ready love these babies so much, but don’t get to be with them during the first couple of months of life.
