Tajweed Surah At-Tin (1-8) | Beautiful Quran Recitation | Surah At-Teen (وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ))
Tajweed Ul Qurran :-
In this short but powerful Makki surah of eight verses, Allah swears by the fig, the olive, Mount Sinai, and the secure city (Makkah) to draw our attention to a profound truth: He has created human beings in the best form, yet we can fall to the lowest of the low — except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. Then He asks: What makes you deny the Recompense? Is not Allah the Most Just of Judges?
This recitation (verses 1-8) invites deep reflection on human dignity, accountability, faith, and the justice of Allah.
Accompanied here is a Tajwīd-guide to help you recite with correct articulation, rhythm, and respect for the Divine Word.

Tajwīd Guide (for Verses 1-8)
Here are some key points to observe while reciting:
1. Give every letter its right — ensure proper articulation of the Arabic letters with their original makhārij (points of articulation) and ṣifāt (characteristics).
For example, the initial oath: وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ — pronounce the “تِّ” with tashdīd clearly, and ensure “زَيْتُونِ” is elongated correctly on the final “وونِ”.
2. Madd (prolongation) — Where there is a madd letter, give it the correct length. For example in أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ (v4) you should hold the “ا” in تَقْوِيمٍ appropriately.
3. Ghunnah and nasalisation — Where there is nun sākinah or tanwīn with rules of ghunnah (like in نَاصِرِينَ etc) you should apply the nasal sound. While this particular surah may not have complicated ghunnah cases, be attentive.
4. Waqf (pausing) — At the end of verses, pause appropriately, respecting the meaning and avoiding breaking the flow awkwardly. Especially between verses 5 and 6 where the contrast is strong: “Then We return him to the lowest of the low. Except those who believe…”
5. Reflect on the meaning as you recite — Tajwīd isn’t only about sound, but also about reciting with humility, reverence, and understanding. As referenced, this surah invites reflection: human dignity, decline, exception for the believers.
6. Avoid major pronunciation errors — Especially avoid changing meanings by missing letters, inserting extra letters, or mis-applying rules. The science of Tajwīd warns that affecting meaning is sinful.
7. Use a qualified recitation as model — It’s helpful to listen to a skilled Qāri (reciter) and mimic the pronunciation, rhythm, and pauses. For example there’s a video that shows the recitation with Tajwīd points marked.
