Digital Painting Process - WoW Character Illustration

This is my usual painting process when I do client work. From a clean approved sketch to finish.
The original process took around 28 hours. I have spent around 2-3 more before that doing different sketching and compositions. I have skipped that part here, because my sketching phases are very rough.. stick figures and such and no point of showing them :)
When i start, having my layers structured this way, allows me to do changes if needed in the earlyer stages - composition, sketch and colors. Once those are approved, I merge many of those clipped layers and proceed to finish the image by overpainting all planes.

This video was recorded with the intention to create a fully narrated process video, explaining everything i do. Thats why you will see random lines and arrows showing up randomly. That is when im doing some explanation. However the sound of the recording turned out with very poor quality and the whole process way too long. It wont work. So im planning to make a separate videos for each different stage of my process. I will need better microphone too :D

I have made another version after i finished the video, without the purple chain. And instead the character holds the second sword. The magic purple chain was my client idea and he requested to have it like that.
