Introducing an excitingly new outdoor sport is rare, but an entrepreneurial local couple, Alysha and Frankie Pudlo, have managed to do just that, throughout Northern Door! Their company is called Door County Kicksled, and is based on their importation of new "kicksleds" from Finland. They've been selling those kicksleds for two years now, and I've heard it from reliable sources that they sold dozens of these unique sleds during the recent Christkindlmarkt event early this winter. Kicksledding is popular throughout Scandinavia, where the sled is called a "Spark," short for Sparkstötting, and where they're widely used to commute short distances, go to the store, or just have some fun. Whatever you call them, it's a unique way to move around during a very cold winter!
