Best portable refrigerator for Tesla Model Y Frunk and how to install 12 volt outlet in a Tesla

In this video, I show you the best option at the moment to install a portable refrigerator / freezer in your Tesla Model Y frunk. I also show you how to wire a constantly powered cigarette lighter socket with an in-line fuse on the inside of your frunk. Remember to be careful when working on your 12 volt battery terminals not to short anything out and turn off the car module from the center console screen and unplug the high voltage service line. I'll explain that in the video.

Unfortunately, overheating can be an issue with installing any fridge in an enclosed sealed environment. It's like take out food, if you dont vent fried food by cutting a hole at the top of the tupperware or platic bag, the heat gets trapped, and your fried food gets soggy in the steamy environment, like a sauna. It can also overheat in your subtrunk as well, since it is a covered and sealed compartment. Overheating in your subtrunk will stink up your passenger environment and make your car smell really bad so you dont want that. A fridge needs to vent the heat which it removes from the food items. There is a work around:
1) pre chill items in your home fridge before placing in the tesla fridge so the fridge doesnt have to work as hard to remove heat from your food items.
2) cut holes in your frunk bin to allow the heat to escape, holes at an upper position will allow the heat that rises to escape and holes at a lower position will allow cooler air to enter the frunk bin. There should be an inlet and an outlet. Be careful with rain water.
3) re-position subtrunk panel to allow heat to dissipate into passenger environment or cut a vent hole in the subtrunk cover. Heat will rise and enter the passenger environment so your subtrunk compartment does not turn into a sauna.
