GEOxyz supported Elia Group in testing a fully autonomous subsea inspection using an AUV along offshore cable routes and platforms in the North Sea.
Using the GAVIA AUV from Teledyne Marine, this demo marks an important step toward the next-generation OSPREY AUV that will join our fleet in 2026.
This autonomous approach reduces the need for offshore vessels, increases safety, and lowers environmental impact. In the video, Geert Moerkerke (Head of Offshore Assets, Elia Transmission Belgium) explains how this innovation helps detect anomalies faster and more efficiently.
