Here are some video highlights I took during a journey on the Heart of Wales line, heading North. I could only go as far as Llandrindod, as we were still not allowed out of Wales at the time due to Coronavirus regulations. Although the next major town after Llandrindod (Knighton) is in Wales, unfortunately, the street with the railway station is in England!! I will do the second part of the line later, when we are allowed out again.
I had 153325 for this journey- the TFW 153s are looking really good at the moment after their refits. However, they still make an awful lot of thrashing noises without accelerating much!
The line is fantastic- winding through the mysterious Wales and Borders countryside. It often operates to light railway rules, with request stops, driver operated level crossings and even some ungated crossings. There is also plenty of jointed rail, and some steep gradients (up to 1in 60 around Sugar Loaf).
I have marked stations and points of interest on the video- there are a few stations missed, as they came up on the left and we didn't stop.
