An 11 weeks old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy is being trained by the Dog Training Ecademy. He has made some remarkable strides forward in just one week, being trained for 10 minutes a day.
However, I was concerned about Cheste's) obvious aggression towards the other two Cavs in the household, so I watch them carefully when they decide to 'play'. It would be very easy for one of the older dogs to snap and hurt him, as Chester gives them such a tough time in his 'rough and tumble' play.
Chester has learned to sit, not jump up, stand on a table for a judge, walk on a lead without pulling and to 'drop'. I will now concentrate on these skills for a couple of weeks until he has them ingrained into his psyche. Also, he has a show to attend mid January and he needs the skills of standing and walking on a leash well instilled
for the show requirements.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
Cavaliers are not meant to be that clever; more they are middle of the field, being ranked as 44 in dog intelligence. Cavalier characteristics are playfulness and being affectionate and sociable. They are definitely fearless (as shown in this video) and are patient and adaptable.. They make perfect 'lap dog' to suit any child or grandmother.
