A compilation video of all 34 railroad crossings that I've filmed on the Long Island Railroad Port Jefferson Branch Line as of 2025. Out of 34 grade crossings on this branch line, only 10 are electrified that MUs go through on a daily basis including Park Ave in Huntington where MUs switch at every so often because they park right across from Kleet Lumber on that second track that starts just west of the Park Ave crossing. The Port Jeff Branch west of Huntington station is one of the few sections in Long Island with grade crossings where both MUs and diesels travel through together as a mile or so east of Park Ave to Port Jefferson hasn't been electrified yet but it is poised to be fully electrified to Port Jeff in the future from what I heard. This line features a good abundance of bi-level diesel passenger trains traveling to Port Jefferson on this line as the MUs that travel on this branch go only up to Huntington. This line also features an abundance of Safetran fading LEDs and GE LEDs, mostly WCH signals and some Safetran signals, and also mainly NEG Alstom LED gate lights and some WCH and NEG Incandescent gate lights. There are also 51 mechanical bells on this line including 49 WCH mechanical bells and 2 remaining Safetran mechanical bells at Old Commack Rd and Indian Head Rd in Kings Park. There are only 3 crossings on this line where the bells ring when the gates are down, Jackson Ave, W 11th St, and the Stony Brook Pedestrian crossing
So far from what I know, 2 grade crossings have been removed from this line since 1991. 51 Comeswogue Rd in Setauket in 1991, and Meadow Glen Rd in Kings Park in Mid-2023 which I filmed that crossing once back in Sept 2022.
