If you love duck hunting on public land, you've probably tried some crazy ideas to get an edge over other hunters. That's exactly what we did on the first day of this trip out west, when we headed out to a public marsh that I had hunted about a week before. Since it was a Sunday we figured there would be some pressure in this spot and sure enough two other groups rolled into the marsh just a few minutes after we had got to our spot. Since we had a big wind and we knew there were going to be a couple other spreads trying to pull the ducks, we decided to throw out every decoy we had in the hopes that we could mimic one of the big rafts of ducks that had been hanging out on the open water the evening before. The flight was a lot more sporadic than we expected but we were able to pull in a mixed bag of mallards, gadwall, wigeon, and teal throughout the morning. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!
