Following the packet radio series, we have already covered setting up the Direwolf TNC, APRS on both windows and Linux, BBS systems, and we are now hitting the end game, TCP/IP over packet radio. In the video we will be using Dire wolf as the tnc, tncattach for creating the network interface, and IL2P as the protocol. IL2P is an improvement on AX.25 and offers forward error correction. Having an established IP network over packet radio means we can connect any typical self hostable service we use every day over the radio. This means we can connect via telnet, http, IRC, email and many more options that we already have in everyday networks.
