Ballard Power Systems ($BLDP) to build 70 hydrogen fuel cell engines for transit buses in Europe

Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ: BLDP), a leading hydrogen fuel cell producer, has announced that the company has received numerous purchase orders for a total of 70 FCmove®-HD hydrogen fuel cell engines from Wrightbus, a prominent UK-based bus manufacturer focusing on hydrogen-powered buses across the UK and Europe.

Anticipating delivery in 2024, Ballard foresees the buses utilizing these engines to commence service in 2025. The hydrogen fuel cell engines are slated to provide propulsion for both single- and double-decker buses in the UK and Germany.
