T5 Ball joints and a special delivery from a subscriber

This is my brothers 2.5tdi VW transporter caravelle executive. In todays episode we look at changing the ball joints which should be straight forward, and as long as nothing is seized solid you should be able to do it in these few simple steps.
jack up vehicle and support with axel stands, remove wheel, loosen and remove bolts for the lower ball joint. Remove ball joint and replace with new one. New bolts and nut are required and come supplied with the new ball joint, then torque to specification. Refit wheel tighten and torque and lower you vehicle from the axle stands. Job done.
However in this case the ball joints did not want to come out so I removed the whole lower arm and then placed it in the vice where I was able to hammer the life out of it till it released from the arm. While I at it I decided to clean the lower arm and freshen it up with some black hammerite.

And to end the day I received a parcel from a subscriber so we'll look at that next time.
