Built in 1869 on the river Clyde in Scotland, The Cutty Sark was one of the last tea clippers to be built, and as a result, was also one of the fastest. Coming at a time when steam ships started to replace the sailing vessels they considered to be obsolete, the Cutty Sark managed to hold her own and became a historic ship in her own right, and is still in use today as a museum ship.
Join me in this video as I build and review the Airfix plastic model kit of this milestone vessel in maritime history.
This model kit dates from 1955, and no scale is visible on the box or instructions. At the time this video was made, it was no longer in production, but stocks might still exist in shops or on the secondhand market.
