Is your Bugera making strange noises as if somebody operates power tools around your guitar?
It's a TUBE!
Surprisingly, this almost new Bugera needed a new tube. First, I decided to just swap the tubes around and see if this might help.
It didn't, so when this 1 tube died, I changed all tubes with TAD RT372 EL84M pair + Genalex Gold Lion 12AX7, to see if there will be any difference / improvement in the overall good and satisfying sound, but I can't tell if I hear any change at all.
My guess is that without changing the speaker, the sound will generally stay the same.
I've heard people complaining about grill noise, so when I bought it I took the time and not only tightened every screw but also changed the speaker's screws and added locking spring washers to prevent them from moving.
I guess, because of all that, I never heard any rattling or buzzing extra noise. I can be wrong, but I think the grill is serving a cooling function prolonging the tubes' lives.
I mean, what other function can it do, because it clearly doesn't serve as tubes protection when they are so well hidden that you need to really make an extra effort to reach them.
I hope all that info helps someone.
Rock on 🤟😈🎸
