Mega Man 2 - No Damage Run

In this video, I beat the whole game of Mega Man 2 in one segment on difficult mode without getting hit.

I had already accomplished this feat for the first game some time last year (part 1 of that here:    • Mega Man - No Damage Run (Part 1/4)  ). For a while, I thought doing this for any other game in the series to be nearly impossible. In time, I learned a lot of tricks from a number of sources, and I eventually began to think that this might not only be possible, but actually not too hard. Sure, the fact that it has several more levels than the original makes a perfect run more of a pain, but overall there aren't too many worrisome parts. This still took me a while to achieve... maybe longer than it should have. I had 2 runs end on the capsule stage, with 1 going so far as the Wily Machine's second form. In the end, I eventually manage to achieve my goal of a perfect Mega Man 2 run. Yay!

If you're familiar with Mega Man 2, you might be wondering how I manage to get past 2 Air Mans, 2 Quick Mans, the Boobeam Trap, and Wily Machine 2 form 2 all in one go. For Air Man, Item 1 is a must. He has 2 tornado patterns that can be almost impossible to dodge. With proper use of Item 1, however, this threat can be significantly diminished. It's still harder than you might think. Interestingly, oftentimes when you touch the gate while riding Item 1 during the fight, you end up in a glitched Wily stage 2. Because of this, I use a different strategy for each fight. Quick Man can also be insanely cheap, but you can stop him in his tracks with a metal blade. If you lure him to either side, you can stop him and have just enough time to get another shot in with either the mega buster or crash bombs. With the Boobeam Trap I use the pause trick to dodge. While it's possible to avoid the shots without it, it's simply too hard to pull off consistently. I know this is cheap, so sorry. Also, one crash bomb has to be placed in such a way that it destroys both a barrier and one of the shooters. This is because having a crash bomb for Wily Machine 2's second form is essential. When he has multiple bouncing shots coming at you, they are simply impossible to dodge. A well placed crash bomb can hit him 3 times with a single explosion. Aim just below where he would normally get damaged while he's moving back and you're good.

With these and a few other tricks, along with careful and strategic play, I flawlessly conquer Mega Man 2.
