Marshall Bruce Mathers III, professionally known as Eminem, was born on October 17, 1972, in St. Joseph, Missouri, USA. He had a difficult childhood, frequently moving between Missouri and Detroit with his mother, Debbie Nelson Mathers. Eminem developed an interest in rap at the age of 14 and later became a part of Detroit’s underground rap battle scene, performing at clubs like the Hip Hop Shop.
Rise to Fame
In 1999, Eminem released The Slim Shady LP, which won two Grammy Awards and propelled him to stardom. His next album, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000), became one of the best-selling rap albums of all time, solidifying his place in the industry.
