Arjuna looks at the battlefield
and does not see enemies.
He sees teachers.
Fathers.
Sons.
Relatives.
This verse is not about war.
It is about what happens inside us
when truth asks us to move forward
and attachment asks us to stay still.
Often, when growth calls,
the mind does not argue with reasons.
It brings up people.
“What will they feel?”
“Who will be hurt?”
“Who will be disappointed?”
What we call compassion
is sometimes just fear of disruption.
The Gita gently reminds us:
love does not mean losing clarity,
and kindness does not mean abandoning truth.
Reflection:
When you stand at the edge of growth,
does your mind list reasons—
or does it list people?
And are you mistaking attachment for virtue?
