John 1 introduces Jesus Christ as the eternal Word of God who existed from the beginning, was with God, and was God. Through Him, all things were created. He is the source of life and the light that shines in the darkness, though the world did not recognize Him.

John the Baptist was sent by God to prepare the way and testify about the coming Light—Jesus—so that people might believe. Though many rejected Jesus, those who accepted Him and believed in His name were given the right to become children of God, born not of human effort but of God.

The chapter highlights a profound truth: The Word became flesh—God became human in the person of Jesus and lived among us, full of grace and truth. John the Baptist identifies Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and declares Him the Son of God.

Jesus then begins calling His first disciples, including Andrew, Peter, Philip, and Nathanael. Through these early encounters, He reveals divine knowledge and authority, leading Nathanael to recognize Him as the Son of God and the King of Israel. Jesus promises that His followers will witness even greater spiritual revelations.
