An introduction to Housing First with Dr Sam Tsemberis

We are Housing First Auckland - a collective of five Housing First services working together to end homelessness in Auckland, New Zealand.

In March 2017, we were privileged to host the founder of the Housing First model, Dr Sam Tsemberis, in Auckland, where he spent four days training our services' frontline workforce in the seven principles of Housing First.

While he was here, we asked Dr Tsemberis to give us a simple introduction to the Housing First model so that everyone living in Auckland, and across Aotearoa, might have a better understanding about homelessness and Housing First - what it is, how it is implemented and why it works.
