The United States has formally asserted that President Trump played a role in halting the India–Pakistan conflict. In a related development, the White House has announced that Ricky Gill, an Indian-origin U.S. official, has received the National Security Council’s Distinguished Action Award for his involvement in ceasefire negotiations between India and Pakistan earlier this year.
The award, presented by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, recognises Gill’s role in internal coordination and diplomatic outreach. India’s decision not to respond to these claims is being widely interpreted as tacit acceptance.
