Most of the scripts on my site and generally on the internet were written to use the version 1.x
The 1.5 client included support for mqttv5 however most scripts use the default mqttv3.1.
there are minor issues if you try to use mqttv5 with these scripts.
The version 2 client introduced in early 2024 introduced some changes which meant that you need to change the code of older scripts to make them run.
This a quick video on what to be aware of when using the version 2 client with scripts written to use version 1.x. client.
I also cover using mqttv5 with scripts written for version 3 with both the old and new client.
