Florida Man Plans to Cycle the French Alps | Getting to the Start

After traveling through Europe for a month backpacking and taking the train to my destinations, I got the feeling I was missing a lot of destinations. The train would pass through small towns, the places I wanted to see the most. While in Berlin, I ordered a Kona Rove Al gravel bike to my hostel in Cassis. A few days later, after taking the train to Cassis, the bike arrived! While getting it delivered preassembled was an option, I felt it was necessary to put it together so I'd have a better understanding of how it works.
The planning began. One option was to ride along the coast of Spain toward Portugal. But a bucket list location for me in Europe was to see the French Alps. I used the app Komoot to plan a route hitting the best peaks in the Alps. From Cassis I took a few days to cycle to Menton, which is between Monaco and Italy. From Menton, I headed north although the Alps Maritime Route. After I complete the French Alps, finishing in Geneva Switzerland, my current plan is to head to Frankfurt for a 1000km bike race called Taunus Bikepacking.
