We have the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) in England to thank for saving real ale (cask beer) for the world. With its popularity growing more bars are installing beer engines and temp controlled kegerators. There are two primary kinds of mounting. One is a very simple clamp on, the other is the more complicated counter mount version. The counter mount offers a much more flexible aesthetic so many bars like to use them.

We recently did an installation at Publican Anker (https://www.publicananker.com/) in Chicago and thought we'd catch some video to share.

You will see in the video that our approach is to drill four holes at the corners of the template then use a metal blade jigsaw to cut the rectangle out. The two template drill holes on the outside of the rectangle are the bolts that attach the the engine to the bar. We recommend making your cuts as precise as possible. The tighter the engine fits into the holes you make the more support the bar can provide all the pulling on the handle.
